Why should I choose The Cat Companion visiting service instead of a cat boarding facility when I go away?
Cats are creatures of comfort and routine and usually prefer to remain in familiar surroundings and smells that remind them of you. When you choose to use The Cat Companion service, you can be assured that your cat will receive professional care in your home while you are away, therefore minimising their levels of stress. It also means that you have more time available to prepare for your time away as you won't need to transport your cat to and from a boarding facility. Furthermore, as part of The Cat Companion StayCATion Package, home care services are included at no extra charge to help make your return home an enjoyable experience.
Should I use The Cat Companion visiting service if my cat has a serious illness?

The Cat Companion is a suitable service if your cat is in good health and/or has a managed medical condition. However, if your cat has a serious illness, is experiencing declining health or requires regular pain relief medication, it is recommended that you seek continuous care at an appropriate boarding facility or veterinarian practice to ensure that their medical needs are met during your time away.
Who will be looking after my cat?

Cindy is the owner of The Cat Companion and will also visit your cat in your home. The Cat Companion does not contract other people to visit your home and care for your cat. This ensures that you receive a professional and consistent end-to-end client experience. Cindy is fortunate to have had cats in her family all her adult life and is currently the servant to 3 feline furry bundles, all adopted from The Cat Haven. She is passionate about the welfare of all animals and is regular donator to The Cat Haven.
Will The Cat Companion stay overnight at my house while I am away?
No. The Cat Companion is a visiting service therefore no overnight stays are required. Depending on your requirements, The Cat Companion will visit your cat either once or twice a day while you are away.
How long is each visit by The Cat Companion?

Each visit is a minimum of 30 minutes. The Cat Companion will try to accommodate preferred visiting times for your cat as much as possible, however these may be subject to change.
Is The Cat Companion insured?
​
Yes. The Cat Companion holds Public Liability insurance and also holds a current National Police Certificate, both of which are available to view.
Does the Cat Companion look after other pets?
​
Yes. The Cat Companion is able to look after small birds and fish that live in your home for an additional charge either in conjunction with The Cat Companion StayCATion Package or as a standalone service. The Cat Companion service does not currently extend to caring for a dog in the home.

How do I make a booking for The Cat Companion?

Bookings for The Cat Companion can be made via phone on 0404 437 115 or by sending an email to info@thecatcompanion.com.au. Once The Cat Companion has confirmed availability of the booking dates being requested, a 50% deposit will be required. A copy of the Terms and Conditions will also be provided to you. Upon receipt of the deposit, The Cat Companion will provide confirmation of the booking. The remaining balance due is to be paid 7 days before the agreed service period starts.

It's always a difficult decision when choosing a virtual stranger to care for your pet (and your home), luckily I chose The Cat Companion. During the period that my cat was cared for, there were a number of unplanned events and The Cat Companion handled them all with absolute aplomb. An unplanned extended power outage to the area that my house is located in was dealt with flawlessly, including checking when the power came back on and the fridges were okay. The period that my cat was scheduled to be cared for was extended to two months. This meant that extra cat food was required and my pool was going to need attention, both handled by The Cat Companion without any fuss whatsoever! My cat is anxious and had previously licked bald spots on his body when left in the care of others.
